The Dental Commandments

A book about dental ethics, and a plain statement of how our Anchorage team believes patients should be treated.

“The Dental Commandments”, a dental law textbook mockup, stands upright against a muted gray background, with a calm, professional tone.

What Is The Dental Commandments?

The Dental Commandments: A Moral Compass for Dentists is a book written by our co-founder, Dr. Mohamad “Moe” Hariri (DDS, MBA, MPH, MS). It explores the intersection of faith, clinical practice, and professional ethics for dental health providers.

The book is part of the University of Detroit Mercy curriculum on dental ethics, so the same principles are now taught to dentists still in training.

What Are the Core Themes of the Book?

Ethics Before Profit

Dr. Hariri anchors every clinical decision in the five pillars of healthcare ethics: respecting your choices, doing good, avoiding harm, treating everyone fairly, and telling you the truth about what your tooth needs.

Care When Others Say No

The book brings everyday dental situations into conversation with scripture and teaching from the Torah, Bible, and Qur'an, showing how care for a patient can also be an act of faith.

A Calling, Not Just a Career

Dr. Hariri writes that healing and patient care are a form of ministry. The office is not only a business; it is a place where people come hurting and leave treated with dignity.

How Does This Book Shape Your Care?

Because it is the standard our office is held to. The ideas in the book shape how we treat you day to day: honesty about what is really wrong, transparency about cost before treatment begins, and decisions made for the patient rather than the schedule. We give copies to our patients free of charge because we want you to know exactly what you should expect from any dentist.

How Do I Get a Copy?

You can order the book online, or simply ask at the front desk during your visit. Copies are available free to our patients at the Anchorage office while supplies last.
